Eco Friendly/Money Saving Tips· Vinegar is great!!! Use plain distilled vinegar for all sorts of things. Use a solution of half vinegar and half water for an all purpose cleaner and wood floor cleaner. Use it full strength for a mirror or window cleaner. I just bought a plain spray bottle and mixed the water/ vinegar solution and put it in the bottle so it is just as convenient as any multi purpose cleaner. It’s much cheaper! And you will never be rushing to the ER if you children get a hold of it. I’m sure it'll taste terrible thoughJ · Also use vinegar in the wash as a fabric softener alternative. I put it in a downy ball and toss it in every wash. It does not leave your clothes smelling like vinegar, I promise. Fabric softener can be harmful and irritating to skin. The chemicals stay in contact with your skin all day long when they are on your clothes. · Reuse! Find ways to reuse stuff you would normally throw out. For instance use cans or glass jars after their use to store and organize small items like nails in the garage or ribbon in your craft room. · Ditch paper towels! Buy small white washcloths and but them in a basket in your kitchen. If you keep them in a convenient spot you’ll never miss paper towels. They absorb much more too! You can buy cheap white washcloths in packs of 5 to 10 at the store. This will save you money and trash. · Use reusable grocery bags. They are much stronger and hold a lot more than standard grocery bags. Some stores will even give you a discount for using them. I’m sure more and more stores will start gradually doing this too.
